  • Right Side Drawer Support: You can now position the Quip drawer on the right side of your screen—just choose your preferred layout in settings.

  • Secondary Click Support for Menu Bar Icon: You can now right-click or control-click the Quip menu bar icon to access additional options and settings.

  • Improved OCR Error Handling: OCR now handles edge cases more gracefully and can be manually cancelled by secondary-clicking during capture.

  • Shortcut Rebinding Fixes: Resolved issues where remapped keyboard shortcuts weren’t pasting correctly.

  • Global Shortcut Conflict Fixes: Shortcuts now behave as expected and will no longer trigger globally when they should be local to Quip. 

  • International Keyboard Compatibility: Enhanced support for non-English keyboard layouts when rebinding shortcuts.

  • Top-Item Pasting Shortcut Fixed: Command + number shortcuts now correctly paste the corresponding item from your history.

  • Large File Crash Fix: Fixed a crash that occurred in some cases when setting a maximum file size and copying large files.

  • Drawer Animation Options: The drawer animation is now smoother, with a new option to disable it entirely for faster, snappier access.

  • ESC Key Support: Pressing the ESC key now closes the Quip drawer for faster navigation and workflow.

  • Double-Click to Paste: You can now double-click any item in Quip to instantly paste it.

  • Super Shortcuts Upgrade: We’ve significantly improved Super Shortcut detection and expansion. This includes more reliable text expansion, fixes for bugs that added copies of expanded shortcuts to history, and overall better accuracy.

  • Enhanced Notch Detection: The notch detection feature has been refined for more accurate icon visibility. You can also now choose to hide the notch prompt permanently.

  • Rich Text Filter: A new filter in the main view lets you quickly isolate and manage rich text items.

  • Shortcut Management: You can now disable individual keyboard shortcuts, as well as fully disable the Super Shortcuts feature if you prefer.

  • Pop-Out Sidebar Mode: Pop-out mode for the sidebar is now a true standalone view. While it’s active, the slide-out bar won’t appear until you close the pop-out bar, and your selection will persist between sessions.

  • Clipboard History Shortcut: A new keyboard shortcut allows you to jump back to your full clipboard history view with ease.

  • Improved Auto Save UI: We’ve clarified the UI for the auto save feature, making it easier to control when Quip automatically saves items and whether you want confirmation before pasting items.

  • Quip Keyboard Enhancements on iPadOS: The Quip Keyboard on iPadOS now includes a proper toggle for switching between keyboards—a previously missing feature—and improved overall responsiveness.

  • Notch Detection + Dock Icon Prompt: If Quip’s menu bar icon is hidden behind your MacBook’s notch, Quip now intelligently detects this and offers to enable the Dock icon for easy access.

  • Only Copy on Shortcut Mode: A new opt-in mode where only your custom shortcut (Shift–Command–C by default) will add items to history. Standard Command–C will continue to copy, but without saving to your clipboard archive.

  • Hide Metadata Mode: Need to scan quickly? Hide all metadata and show only content previews—perfect for fast browsing and minimal distraction.

  • Improved Onboarding + Permission Detection: Quip now better detects and explains missing permissions during setup, helping you get started faster and with fewer hiccups.
